A Black Balsam Knob Engagement Session
Jordan & Caleb are always up for an adventure.
In fact, Caleb proposed while the two of them were exploring Japan! Jordan told me that the photos of the two of them taken wherever they go is their most treasured memento of their travels. So, these two are no strangers to beautiful scenery, and they let me know they were up for a hike if it meant getting to the best place for photos -- music to my ears!
Anytime a couple is looking for an adventure session within range of upstate SC, the Blue Ridge Mountains are one of the first places to look. And Black Balsam Knob is one of my favorites. It's a bit of a windy drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as about a half mile, fairly steep hike up to the best views, but it is well worth it for the scenery and gorgeous light to be found! While it can get a little chilly and breezy atop Black Balsam, the weather (and skies) played nicely with us, and set the scene for an epic engagement session.
Jordan and Caleb - thank you for an incredibly fun shoot, and additionally for not judging me too hard for losing the path slightly on the way back down to the cars! (What's a hike without a little ramble through the brush, anyway?)
