Laughter and happy tears — these are the marks of a wedding crafted to fit a couple perfectly. Abby and Ryan’s had both in spades! Their ceremony had everyone alternately reaching for their tissues and doubling over in joyful laughter.
These are the real, candid moments I love to capture as a documentary wedding photographer - the couple grabbing a drink at the next door 13 Stripes Brewery before their ceremony. A round of rock-paper-scissors to determine who would read their vows first. Sharing a doughnut Lady-and-the-Tramp style instead of cake cutting. Abby and Ryan infused their personalities into their wedding, and it made for a personal, sweet, and emotional - yet relaxed - day.
And of course, I loved their venue, Southern Bleachery in Taylors, SC - this space has so much vintage, industrial character, yet serves as a beautiful minimalist backdrop for a couple to display their own aesthetic. Between the white brick and ample window light, it’s a photographer’s dream - plus the surrounding grounds have so much texture and color to play with for portrait backdrops. I can’t wait to shoot here again in the future!
